Get to Know the Founder

Born and raised in Inglewood, California, LaShawn Chester brings over 20 years of experience in the medical and wellness fields. Inspired by her grandmothers—one a registered nurse, the other a special education principal—LaShawn built her career as a Massage Therapist, Certified Nursing Assistant, Home Care Aide, and Physical Therapy Technician.

Her early work in physical therapy gave her a deep understanding of pain, recovery, and what it takes to help someone feel safe in their own body again. Believe N Care grew out of her desire to restore dignity and trust in home care—to make sure families feel seen, heard, and genuinely cared for.

When she isn’t leading the agency, LaShawn is active in her church and community, supporting missions throughout Los Angeles County, especially with seniors and individuals experiencing homelessness. Her guiding belief is simple:

“If you can help somebody, then your living shall not be in vain.”

With nearly 30 years of hands-on caregiving, Ronald Young has devoted his life to serving others. His experience includes working as a CNA, HHA, RNA, and providing care at Little Company of Mary Hospital, as well as serving individuals with special needs and mental health challenges through LAUSD’s Special Education Department.

Ron has supported children, teens, and young adults ages 5–22 with autism, severe disabilities, and complex behavioral needs—experience that now strengthens Believe N Care’s approach to clients with dementia, PTSD, and emotional or behavioral challenges.

For Ron, caregiving isn’t a job; it’s a calling. He continues to provide direct care alongside his leadership role, ensuring that every client receives compassionate, personalized support.
